PiBot

A MyADP Chatbot, that provides real-time support to employees. Taking the burden off practitioners, PiBot proactively surfaces customized insights when an employee’s paycheck changes and gives details into the calculation.

I designed the framework for the chat experience…

Collaborative Ideation: Defining the Bot’s Voice

To align our technical constraints with a human-centric experience, I facilitated a Crazy 8’s session with our Lead Developer, PM, and Content Strategist. We moved rapidly from technical logic to human conversation, using targeted prompts to explore personalization, iconography, and message depth. This cross-functional sprint ensured that our final tone was not only empathetic but also technically feasible and strategically aligned.

Generative Testing: Personality Modeling Scenarios

Methodology: I utilized low-fidelity-prototyping—in the form of three text-based, conversational scripts—to conduct generative research sessions with in-house payroll practitioners and subject matter experts.

Design Outcome: We implemented a “layered” content strategy that leads with the bottom-line financial impact and offers granular data only upon explicit user request.

Key Outcomes & Strategic Value

Established Evidence-Based Information Hierarchy: Insights confirmed that the primary user need is to understand the change in net pay relative to the previous paycheck, rather than receiving a deep dive into tax calculations.

Defined a Scalable Conversational Persona: Testing validated specific high-impact phrasing—such as “I noticed that…” and “Just a heads up…” —establishing a supportive, proactive tone that builds trust without being overly clinical.

Optimized Narrative Clarity with Specificity: Feedback revealed that providing concrete dates and specific pay periods is essential for helping employees reconcile financial changes quickly.
